Overview
This two-day workshop is a combination of didactic lectures, case discussions, and hands-on cadaver labs focused on addressing the pathology, treatment indications, surgical techniques, and complication avoidance in pediatric and adolescent patients with foot and ankle deformities. Pediatric foot and ankle deformities are complex medical conditions requiring detailed understanding of these deformities and various surgical options to ensure long term satisfactory outcomes. The course is designed to improve knowledge and technical skills in proper evaluation and treatment of complex pediatric foot and ankle deformities and would be mostly beneficial for practicing pediatric and adult orthopaedic surgeons and higher-level trainees who have an interest in treating foot and ankle deformities in the pediatric and adolescent population. The course content was based on the concepts developed by master surgeon and course co director, Dr. Vince Mosca.  The expert faculty from various academic centers across North America will bring their knowledge and expertise to share with the attendees.

Objectives
  1. Describe the general concepts leading to proper evaluation of children with foot and ankle deformities
  2. Describe the decision-making process for treating children with valgus, cavovarus, and club foot deformity (non-operative treatment, soft tissue and bony procedures)
  3. Describe the decision-making process for evaluation and treatment of children with neuromuscular foot deformity
  4. Perform the above procedures under the guidance of expert faculty and utilizing 4. specially prepared cadaveric specimens
