Overview
This program is designed to address the professional practice gaps in all six competencies, including patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, and systems-based practice.  This program will provide updated information based on the new guidelines and recommendations based on the new guidelines and recommendations based on the most current research presented at the following: Annual Scientific Meeting, October 25-30, 2024, Pennsylvania Convention Center Philadelphia, PA) and the National American Association of the Study of Liver Diseases Meeting, November 15-19, 2024, in San Diego, CA) and will go a long way towards patient outcomes. 

Objectives
  1. Evaluate the impact of new strategies for treatment of fatty liver disease.
  2. Discuss the updates in autoimmune liver diseases evaluation and management.
  3. Evaluate the role of sarcopenia frailty and its impact on liver transplants.
  4. Interview the guidelines on the use of non-invasive assessments of liver fibrosis and in chronic diseases.
  5. Provide updates in management of disorders of the brain-gut axis.
  6. Discuss the expanding treatment options for inflammatory gastrointestinal disease, including IBD.
  7. Summarize the latest therapy recommendations for motility disorders.
  8. Review advances in pancreaticobiliary disease.

Registration

Registration is required in order to attend the live activity and to have access to the virtual link.

Logistics of conference location and parking will be provided to registered and paid participants that indicate in-person attendance a few days prior to the activity.

Grievance Policy & Procedure

The monitoring and assessment of compliance with these standards and the SLU CME Program Mission is the responsibility of the CME Program Director in consultation with the CME Program Accrediting Director & CME Chairperson, and the Continuing Education Committee. While Saint Louis University CME Program attempts to anticipate issues and assure fair treatment for all participants to conduct and experience valid and successful CME activities, there may be occasional issues which require intervention and/or action on the part of the CME Program. To register a complaint or grievance with the Saint Louis University CME Program:

Submit a written, detailed complaint or grievance to [email protected]. Complaints will be reviewed by the Program Director and addressed or transferred to the appropriate level for review:

  • Answers and/or actions taken to rectify complaints will be documented and sent to those that provide contact information.
  • If appropriate, complaints will be reviewed at the CME Committee Meeting for members to discuss and find solutions to the area of complaint.
  • Compliance issues will automatically be moved up to the Accrediting Director for immediate review.
