Overview
Two guest speakers will provide lectures regarding Stroke updates in treatment and care. Pro-Con Debate teams will discuss pharmacology topics.  Three breakout sessions, Case-Based Review, Quality Improvement, and Topic Updates will provide for individualized learning tracks and hands-on session using ultrasound equipment for Trans Cranial Doppler will keep the activity interactive.

Objectives
  1. Apply advanced imaging to identify tissue at risk in acute stroke.
  2. Select eligible treatment candidates in the late time window.
  3. Recommend ideal treatments for patients with acute stroke in the late time window.
  4. Review alternative methods for acute stroke triage.
  5. Discuss for tPA administration may evolve using perfusion imaging.
  6. Review the guidelines for management of glucose after stroke.
  7. Employ the guidelines for management of blood pressure after intracerebral hemorrhage.
  8. Develop strategies for quality improvement in stroke systems of care.
  9. Interpret the role of depression in stroke recovery.

The monitoring and assessment of compliance with these standards and the SLU CME Program Mission is the responsibility of the CME Program Director in consultation with the CME Program Accrediting Director & CME Chairperson, and the Continuing Education Committee. While Saint Louis University CME Program attempts to anticipate issues and assure fair treatment for all participants to conduct and experience valid and successful CME activities, there may be occasional issues which require intervention and/or action on the part of the CME Program. To register a complaint or grievance with the Saint Louis University CME Program:

Submit a written, detailed complaint or grievance to [email protected]. Complaints will be reviewed by the Program Director and addressed or transferred to the appropriate level for review:
