Four Day Advanced Conference

Registration

REGISTRATION FOR MASTERS 18 CLOSES AT MIDNIGHT ON JULY 30, 2019. YOU MUST BE REGISTERED AND PAID FULL BY THAT DATE IN ORDER TO ATTEND THE CONFERENCE.

The ORIGINAL Advanced Medicolegal Death Investigator Training Course.  This conference is designed for the instruction of experienced medicolegal death investigators, forensic pathologists, law enforcement officers, forensic scientists, physicians, attorneys, and investigative personnel that have previously been trained in a basic death investigation program. Attendees are expected to be knowledgeable of basic death investigation techniques.  Graduates of the Medicolegal Death Investigators Training Course, sponsored by Saint Louis University School of Medicine, will have been provided this background. The 2019 Masters Conference topics have been chosen with the practical educational needs of the medicolegal death investigator in mind.

A nationally recognized faculty will present subject matter that will be useful to the attendees.  The Masters Conference is conducted every two years during the late summer to provide a regular colloquium for those who wish to keep current on issues in the field of death investigation.  The topics change in each Masters Conference to reflect new information developing at that time.  This specific program will not be repeated again at any future Masters Conference.

Full agenda will be posted as soon as it is available.

This Year's Presentations include:

  • The Opioid Epidemic- It affects everyone
  • Confrontation: Where Forensic Science Meets the 6th Amendment
  • Inter-agency Collaboration: The Recovery, Analysis and Identification of the Skeletal Remains of Three Missing Females
  • Half Day Workshop on Trauma and Stress on the Medicolegal Investigator
  • OSAC Update for the Medicolegal Death Investigator
  • An Interactive Session in Forensic Medicine and Pathology on Admissibility of Scientific Evidence in Shaken baby Syndrome and Abusive Head Trauma
  • Elder Abuse Investigations

COLLEGE CREDIT NOW AVAILABLE!

Attendance at this conference qualifies for 2 hours of college credit through Saint Louis University for those currently enrolled at SLU and pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree and are interested in obtaining additional college credit toward their degree and to be eligible for the student rate. To help offset the additional cost of SLU tuition for the 2 hours of college credit, there is a limited number of reduced Masters conference student spots available at a reduced conference rate for those who qualify.  Student registration will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis, and as registration capacity permits. Non-SLU students interested in obtaining college credit for attending this course may also receive a reduced student conference rate.  Inquiries regarding fees and eligibility requirements may be directed to the SLU CME Office at 314-977-7322 or [email protected].   You will be required to submit a letter of request, on appropriate school letterhead, from your advisor or department chair stating that this course would be beneficial to your studies and SLU credits would transfer and be accepted toward your degree.  Fax to the SLU CME Office at 314-977-4533 or scan and email to [email protected].  Please be sure to include your email address.  After your school letter has been received and reviewed, we will email you a Masters Conference Student Registration Form.  Completed forms may be returned by mail, or email.  We will register you and send you a registration confirmation which will reflect the conference fee balance due of $450.00 (this fee does not include hotel, travel or college credits) Conference fees must be paid in full before the conference in order to hold your spot. Separate registration with Saint Louis University for college credit will be completed on the first day of the conference, and you will be billed for the college tuition fees.
