Course Overview:

Sleep disorders are common but unfortunately under diagnosed per the Institute of Medicine. The IOM report identifies one way to close this gap is in the form of CME activities for health care providers. This activity will serve as a sleep medicine conference for health providers from the state of Missouri and surrounding states to provide an activity for clinicians to gain expertise in more effectively diagnosing and treating common sleep disorders such as enhancing sleep clinic outcomes utilizing the Sleep Team approach, discussion on SIDS, the tired teenager, potential pitfalls of initiating PAP Devices in un-monitored hospital areas, sleep dentistry and the military, how to perform sleep studies on children, sleep and menopause and sleep in the aging male, advanced modes or PAP for SDB, Chronotype and health, infant polysomnography and common sleep problems in infants. A pediatric sleep panel will discuss questions brought forth from the Missouri Sleep 2018 conference and take questions from the participants for an interactive breakout session.
