This conference will review the updates in the guidelines in the management of pulmonary embolism and clarify areas of controversy in the management of pulmonary embolism. The strategy to implement risk stratification tools and management decision based on the severity of illness will be described. The conference will facilitate collaborative care by identifying role of interdisciplinary teams in the management of pulmonary embolism. 



Objectives
  1. Develop a diagnostic and risk stratification approach in acute pulmonary embolism
  2. Identify the role of multidisciplinary team approach in management of pulmonary embolism patients
  3. Demonstrate the role of interventional treatments in the management of intermediate and high risk pulmonary embolism patients
  4. Identify and describe the post hospitalization challenges and follow up of pulmonary embolism patients.

Internists, Emergency room physicians, Pulmonary, Critical care physicians and nurses, radiologists, interventional radiologist, interventional cardiologist, vascular surgery, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, family medicine, hematologists, hospitalists, pharmacists, NPs, PAs, residents and fellows, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, medical students
