Overview

This program is designed to address the professional practice gaps in all six competencies including: patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, and systems-based practice. This program will provide updated information based on the new guidelines and recommendations from current research presented at the following national conferences: ACG Annual Scientific Meeting (October 9 - 14, 2026) and the National American Association of the Study of Liver Diseases Meeting (November 5-9, 2026) and will go a long way towards improving patient outcomes.


Objectives
  1. Discuss the updates in the management of hepatocellular carcinoma.
  2. Review the challenges and learn about the advances in the management of Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC) and Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC).
  3. Describe the updates in managing Metabolic Dysfunction and Alcohol-Associated Liver Disease (Met-ALD).
  4. Discuss the perioperative risk assessment and management in patients with liver cirrhosis
  5. Summarize the latest in High-Quality Upper GI endoscopy, management of post polypectomy bleeding, and discuss novel endoscopic approaches for complex GI bleeding.
  6. Summarize the latest therapy recommendations for functional GI disorders.
  7. Review the new guidelines in implementing treatment for acute pancreatitis.
  8. Discuss the expanding treatment options and challenges in managing inflammatory GI disease, including IBD.

While Saint Louis University CME Program attempts to anticipate issues and assure fair treatment for all participants to conduct and experience valid and successful CME activities, there may be occasional issues which require intervention and/or action on the part of the CME Program. To register a complaint or grievance with the Saint Louis University CME Program:

Submit a written, detailed complaint or grievance to [email protected]. Complaints will be reviewed by the Program Director and addressed or transferred to the appropriate level for review:

  • Answers and/or actions taken to rectify complaints will be documented and sent to those that provide contact information.
  • If appropriate, complaints will be reviewed at the CME Committee Meeting for members to discuss and find solutions to the area of complaint.
  • Compliance issues will automatically be moved up to the Accrediting Director for immediate review.
