Ophthalmology Grand Rounds - 5/5/2027

The Department of Ophthalmology Grand Rounds is a recurring educational conference designed to improve patient care through the integration of evidence-based medicine, clinical case discussion, quality improvement, and professional development. The conference serves as the department's primary multidisciplinary educational forum for faculty, residents, fellows, students, and allied health professionals. Community physicians are also invited.

1. Apply current evidence-based recommendations to the diagnosis and management of common and complex ophthalmic diseases.
2. Evaluate challenging clinical cases to improve diagnostic reasoning, therapeutic decision-making, and patient outcomes.
3. Integrate patient safety, quality improvement, and systems-based practices into clinical care through structured case review and morbidity and mortality analysis.
4. Identify emerging diagnostic technologies, surgical techniques, and best practices that can be incorporated into ophthalmic practice to improve the quality and safety of patient care.
5. Examine physician roles in advocacy to advance patient centric care.
