Overview

This one-and-a-half day event brings the healthcare community together to gain specialty-specific insight on the multidisciplinary approach to metabolic disease. The incidence of obesity and T2DM continues to rise in the general population; with a parallel increase in prevalence of MASLD. At this time it is estimated that up to 40% of the US population is affected. Importantly these conditions are seen by all physicians and are often either not captured or are under-diagnosed.

This annual conference brings experts from across the globe to present sessions focusing on current and emerging best practices for the management of: obesity, diabetes, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, sleep disorders, brain health, organ transplantation complications, endocrinology, pediatric metabolic disease, and cancer risks.

Attendees will be introduced to current and new treatment strategies to address these multiple overlapping disorders (often with common pathogenic mechanisms).

Our aim is to bring attention to these common disorders and the need for early identification of those at highest risk.

Objectives
By attending this program, participants will be able to:

  1. List metabolic risk factors.
  2. Identify complications of the Metabolic Syndrome.
  3. Summarize the interactions of metabolic disorders with various organ systems including the: kidneys, lung, heart, brain, ovaries, liver, and skin.
  4. Discuss weight loss strategies (medication, endoscopy, surgery) and available new pharmacotherapies.
  5. Discuss interactions of BMI and obstructive airway disease.
  6. Discuss interactions of obesity and sleep disorders.
  7. Review metabolic risk factors in post organ transplant.
