Overview

The two day Healthy Aging Conference is an overview of the most pressing and innovative geriatrics topics in the field. Presenters with backgrounds in healthcare, medicine, mental health, nursing, allied health, and other fields will share cutting edge knowledge around key topics in older adult care. Attendees will be able to use these skills in everyday practice in primary care, geriatrics clinics, and other community-based settings. Day two of the conference has three trainings: CST trainings, Loneliness training, and falls prevention training.

The conference will have four morning plenary talks on innovative topics such as new medications, the future of Medicare, and artificial intelligence and the role in aging. The afternoon talks will consist of a series of three tracks that attendees can choose from (clinical, research, innovations).

At the lunch hour of the conference, there will be a research poster session that attendees can view. Students, residents, and faculty will be submitting their research topics to display to conference attendees. The conference will also have vendors this year to help exhibit their information to attendees.

Objectives
  1. Describe the key health and medical topics that are impacting the overall quality of health for older adults.
  2. Explore specific evidence-based strategies and non-pharmacological interventions for addressing health behaviors of older adults.
  3. Develop effective ways for healthcare and community providers to find collaborations and partnerships to effective streamline complex geriatric cases.
