The symposium is a two-day event where the healthcare community can gain specialty-specific insight on the multidisciplinary approach to Metabolic Disease. Experts from across the country will present sessions focusing on current and emerging best practices for the management of:

- Obesity
- Diabetes
- Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
- Cardiovascular diseases
- Neurogastric disorders
- Pediatric Metabolic Diseases
- Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
- Impact of these metabolic disorders on renal, pulmonary, dermatologic, and endocrinologic diseases

These conditions are seen by all physicians and are often not captured or under-diagnosed. Our aim is to bring attention to these common disorders and need for early identification of those at highest risk. Attendees will be introduced to current and new treatment strategies to address these multiple overlapping disorders.

Objectives
By attending this program, participants will be able to: 

  1. List metabolic risk factors
  2. Identify complications of the Metabolic Syndrome
  3. Discuss weight loss strategies (medication, endoscopy, surgery) and new pharmacotherapies
  4. Summarize the interactions of metabolic disorders with various organ systems including the kidneys, lung, heart, brain, ovaries, liver, and skin

Non-SLU Trainees:

In order to confirm your trainee status, you will be required to submit either a scan of your hospital ID or submit a letter confirming your trainee status. Scan and email to [email protected]. Once received, reviewed, and approved, we will email you letting you know you can register as a Non-SLU Trainee. Failure to provide proof of trainee status will result in termination of your registration.

Cancellations:

Cancellations received before March 28th, will be issued a refund minus a $10.00 administrative fee. After March 28th, no refunds will be issued.
