Overview

This half day CME/CE conference will take place in person, face to face, and virtual on-line live ZOOM meeting for those not wanting to travel or interact with others. We will have expert faculty speakers that discuss the importance of team work and communication from the ED to therapy. Each team member that interacts with a stroke patient will have the opportunity to hear and discuss new innovations in helping Stroke patient get back to good quality of life in less time.


Objectives
  1. Review the most up to date advances in the care of critically ill patients with neurologic injury.
  2. Identify the latest advances in minimally invasive Neurointerventional techniques techniques
  3. Gain the skills to implement changes at a local level.
  4. Review the most up to date advances in the Pre-hospital and ED care of Stroke patients.
  5. Describe the role of Pastoral Care in offering support to ICU patients and their families as well as staff
  6. Describe how Social Work/Care Coordination collaborate with patients, families and the medical team to address discharge planning in the ICU
  7. Describe how PT, OT and ST work with patients and families to improve participation with early intervention in the ICU
  8. Review the different ways in which Nurses participate in the interdisciplinary care of Stroke patients.
  9. Review the most up to date advances in the diagnosis and treatment of Stroke

Registration is required in order to attend the live activity and to have access to the virtual link for participants that are unable to participate in person.  Meeting login and instructions will be provided to registered and paid participants that indicate virtual attendance at least two days prior to the activity.

The monitoring and assessment of compliance with these standards and the SLU CME Program Mission is the responsibility of the CME Program Director in consultation with the CME Program Accrediting Director & CME Chairperson, and the Continuing Education Committee.
