Overview

This four-day conference is designed for the instruction of experienced medicolegal death investigators, forensic pathologists, law enforcement officers, forensic scientists, physicians, attorneys and investigative personnel who have previously been trained in a basic death investigation program.



Registration

Registration for MASTERS 19 closes at MIDNIGHT on May 13, 2022. You must be registered and paid in full by that date in order to attend the conference.

The ORIGINAL Advanced Medicolegal Death Investigator Training Course. This conference is designed for the instruction of experienced medicolegal death investigators, forensic pathologists, law enforcement officers, forensic scientists, physicians, attorneys, and investigative personnel that have previously been trained in a basic death investigation program. Attendees are expected to be knowledgeable of basic death investigation techniques. Graduates of the Medicolegal Death Investigators Training Course, sponsored by Saint Louis University School of Medicine, will have been provided this background. The 2022 Masters Conference topics have been chosen with the practical educational needs of the medicolegal death investigator in mind.

A nationally recognized faculty will present subject matter that will be useful to the attendees. The Masters Conference is conducted every two years to provide a regular colloquium for those who wish to keep current on issues in the field of death investigation. The topics change in each Masters Conference to reflect new information developing at that time. This specific program will not be repeated again at any future Masters Conference.

Individual Basic Conference Course Fee: 

$750.00 Basic Conference Fee includes:

  • Course Syllabus Material will be made available to registered participants on a Google shared site for review/download prior to the activity
  • Daily light breakfast, afternoon snack, coffee, hot tea, soft drinks, and water provided throughout each day of the conference
  • Welcoming Reception on Monday to include heavy appetizers and cocktails
  • Course Dinner on Wednesday
  • Certificate of Attendance will be provided to all attendees on the last day of the course and one (1) Continuing Education certificate, if needed. Please refer to the Accreditation information below to review a list of professional continuing education certifications for which this activity has been approved. New approvals will be added as we receive them.  It is the responsibility of the participant to understand their board's requirements for continuing education credits.

If more three or more participants register from the same office, there is a $50.00 discount.  Please select the $700.00 fee when registering if applicable. You will need to email the CME office with proof of same office employment.

Single Day Listen & Learn Fee:

Register to attend 1 or 2 days only. You must indicate at time of registration which 1 or 2 day(s) you will be attending. No certificates of attendance or CME/CE credit certificates will be awarded for attendees registered at this level. No course material will be given to attendees registered at this level. Fee includes participation to listen and learn in classroom sessions for days indicated. Fee includes light breakfast and afternoon snack for day(s) indicated. Registrants at this level are not eligible to attend the networking reception or dinner.

1 day fee - $100.00 2 day fee - $175.00

Attendance at the course will only be allowed if you have pre-registered and paid in full by May 13, 2022 (no walk-in registrations will be taken).

Additional Information:

  • Badge is required for admittance to course and must be worn at all times throughout the week.
  • All registered participants and guests are invited to attend the Welcome Reception on Monday at no additional charge. All registered participants are invited to attend the Course Dinner on Wednesday evening. If you would like to bring additional guests to the dinner, you may purchase additional Guest(s) Dinners at $50.00 per person at the time of registration.
  • Additional Continuing Education Certificate:  $50.00 each - If more than one Continuing Education Certificate is desired, payment of additional continuing education certificate fee is required.
  • NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED FOR ADDITIONAL DINNER GUEST(S) OR ADDITIONAL CONTINUING EDUCATION CERTIFICATES

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received before May 16, 2022, will be issued a refund minus a $100.00 administrative fee.  After May 16, no refunds will be issued.

COLLEGE CREDIT NOW AVAILABLE!
Fees for college credits- $760.00 per credit hour for undergraduate and $600.00 per credit hour for graduate student.

Attendance at this conference qualifies for 2 hours of college credit through Saint Louis University for those currently enrolled at SLU and pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree and are interested in obtaining additional college credit toward your degree and to be eligible for the student conference rate.

SLU STUDENTS ($350.00 course registration fee)
To help offset the additional cost of SLU tuition for the 2 hours of college credit, there is a limited number of reduced MLDI conference student spots available for those who qualify.  Student registration will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis, and as registration capacity permits.

Non-SLU Students ($450.00 course registration fee)
Non-SLU students interested in obtaining SLU college credit for attending this course may also receive a reduced student conference rate.  Inquiries regarding fees and eligibility requirements may be directed to the SLU CME Office at 314-977-7322 or [email protected].   You will be required to submit a letter of request, on appropriate school letterhead, from your advisor or department chair stating that this course would be beneficial to your studies and SLU credits would transfer and be accepted toward your degree.  Please send to to [email protected] and be sure to include your email address.  After your school letter has been received, reviewed, and approved, we will email you the link and information to register as a Non- Student.  Conference fees must be paid in full before the conference in order to hold your spot.

Separate registration with Saint Louis University for college credit will be completed on the first day of the conference, and you will be billed for the college tuition fees.

Continuing Education Information     

It is the responsibility of the participant to understand their board's requirements for continuing education credits. 

Daily sign-in is required each morning and afternoon of the activity.  Please look for additional documentation required by your accrediting body. If you do not fall into one of the approved categories below; you will only receive the Certificate of Attendance. No refunds will be issued for additional certificate fees paid. It is your responsibility to understand your CME/CE requirements for tracking and proof of credit/hours.

Grievance Policy & Procedure

The monitoring and assessment of compliance with these standards and the SLU CME Program Mission is the responsibility of the CME Program Director in consultation with the CME Program Accrediting Director & CME Chairperson, and the Continuing Education Committee. While Saint Louis University CME Program attempts to anticipate issues and assure fair treatment for all participants to conduct and experience valid and successful CME activities, there may be occasional issues which require intervention and/or action on the part of the CME Program. To register a complaint or grievance with the Saint Louis University CME Program:

Submit a written, detailed complaint or grievance to [email protected]. Complaints will be reviewed by the Program Director and addressed or transferred to the appropriate level for review:

  • Answers and/or actions taken to rectify complaints will be documented and sent to those that provide contact information.
  • If appropriate, complaints will be reviewed at the CME Committee Meeting for members to discuss and find solutions to the area of complaint.
  • Compliance issues will automatically be moved up to the Accrediting Director for immediate review.
