Overview
Hands-On Cadaver Workshop for PAs, NPs, Nurses and other interested Healthcare Professionals.

Objectives
  1. Perform basic interrupted suturing techniques, subcuticular and deep wound closures
  2. Discuss suture and needle types and indications for use
  3. Review and describe basic spinal anatomy and pathologies and significant surgical anatomy of the cervical lumbar spine
  4. Describe assessment techniques for the cervical and lumbar spine patient and perform physical exam skills in the lab
  5. Study spinal imaging techniques and review normal and abnormal results to enhance interpretation skills
  6. Review surgical approaches and fusion techniques for the cervical and lumbar spine
  7. Perform anterior/posterior cervical and posterior lumbar decompression and fixation procedures on the cadaver specimen enhancing abilities to anticipate the needs of both the patient and the surgeon
  8. Participate in interactive case discussions of patients with spinal pathologies
