Overview
The promotion of serious scholarly investigation into the medieval and early modern worlds is at the heart of this Symposium. By bringing together specialists across what are often opaque chronological boundaries, new insights into historical dynamics and trends can be uncovered and explored. Our guiding principle is a programmatic flexibility that puts excellence in scholarship ahead of all other concerns.

Registration

Everyone attending the Symposium on Medieval and Renaissance Studies must register. Click the Register button to begin. All registration prior to the Symposium must be handled through our online form. Regular online registration closes on May 16; however, late registrants may still register online for an additional $50 late fee. Late fee registration is also available on-site. Refunds are not possible after May 16.

Group Registrations are encouraged for departments wishing to pay for the expenses of multiple attendees.The regular registration rate is $125. The student rate is $75. All major credit cards are accepted.

On-Site Registration & Registration Packets

Late registration will be available for an additional fee of $50 beginning May 16. On-campus housing will not be available to late registrants after June 1.

On-site registration and packet pickup will be held in the Center for Global Citizenship from 12pm until 8pm on Sunday, June 14. Registration and packet pick-up also will be available daily from 8am until 5pm Monday through Wednesday.

 

Steps for Symposium Registration

 

  1. Click “Register Now”
  2. You will need to create a new account. Click “Sign In” and then “Don’t have an account.”
  3. Enter necessary information: email, first and last name, and create/reconfirm a password.
  4. Click “Live Courses”
  5. Click “Symposium on Medieval and Renaissance Studies.”
  6. You will be given an “Overview” of the SMRS and lodging at “Hotels.” Under “Hotels,” you have the option to check out and stay at the Hotel Ignacio located conveniently close to the Saint Louis University campus. To reserve a room there, follow the instructions and the link to the Hotel Ignacio website.
  7. To register, click “Register” at the bottom of the page and “Continue.”
  8. To make a profile, fill in at least all required fields, marked RED.
  9. Choose a Registration Type. Please note different options for Participants/Registrants and Exhibitors.
  10. Choose a Lodging Option. Please remember to correlate your choice of length of stay with the calendar days on the next page, under “Survey.”
  11. Choose any Tours you wish to attend.
  12. Fill out the Survey. If you need to view “on-campus lodging” options, there is a provided link.
  13. Choose a Payment option and submit required payment information.
